Denton Gay
Denton Gay was born and raised in the community of Springdale, Arkansas.
A Springdale High School graduate, he continued his education at the University of Arkansas,
where he earned a BA degree in Psychology.
He worked in several enterprises before obtaining a job with a large automobile insurance company
in 1985. As an automobile insurance Claim Representative, he investigated, negotiated, and settled
automobile insurance claims for approximately five years. During this time he completed the General
Insurance and Associate In Claims programs. In 1990 he was promoted to Auto Claim Supervisor and
moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. In 1992, another promotion landed him in McComb, Mississippi as
an Auto Claim Superintendent. During this time period he earned the Chartered Property and Casualty
Underwriter designation from the Insurance Institute.
In 1994, he obtained a lateral transfer back to Fayetteville, Arkansas and the job title changed to
Auto Claim Team Manager. In addition to the formal insurance education offered by the Insurance Institute
of America, he also completed many in-house training programs offered by his employer and accumulated
many hours of continuing education offered both by his employer and others. In addition, he supervised
the handling of a large number of claims by numerous claim personnel. He prides himself in the customer
service provided to the customers, employees, and agents of his employer.
At the end of 2001, he resigned and embarked on a writing career. As a writer, he has written several
screenplays, numerous short stories, two novels, and a non-fiction book.

His first novel, Fatal Mistakes, is a psychological novel about the unforeseen consequences of decisions
made by four characters in regards to teen pregnancy. This novel is published by Booklocker.com and available

The second novel, Tailspin, is a political satire about an inventor who releases the proverbial genie in a bottle when
he develops a device that enables dogs to communicate. The dogs proceed to throw our political system into a real Tailspin.

other booksellers. This book provides ideas for the prevention of automobile accidents and ways to reduce the financial consequences to consumers.
He has also written several screenplays which are available upon request.
Outlaws is a farce about two women who turn to crime out of desperation. It is Thelma and Louise meets Dumb and Dumber.
This screenplay made the quarter finals of a couple of screenwriting competitions.
The Cottonpickers is a comedy about a con artist who gets conned by an unlikely cast of characters in a nursing home. This story
is Cocoon meets One Flew Over meets Animal House.
Pinky’s Plumbing is a comedy about a young lady who discovers that the important thing in life is not what you look like but who you
are. This is The Big Night meets How to Succeed in Business on a low budget.
Secrets is a teen comedy about the importance of honesty in relationships. A teen becomes obsessed with the forbidden fruit, much
to the dismay of her parents. American Pie meets Something About Mary.
The Y is a drama about the secret world of the Yeti. Harry and the Hendersons meet Planet of the Apes.
Ruqui is a drama about acceptance which is a modern update of the Book of Ruth from the old Testament. Denton co-wrote this
story with Rosalyn Dewey. This is Sabrina meets Monster-In-Law.
